What Do PWP Members Do?

• Network , network, network!

• Hear authors and publishing experts speak at monthly meetings.

• Learn answers to questions about writing and publishing.

• Learn about area, regional, and national writing opportunities.

• Share expertise with aspiring writers. 

• Join critique groups and use the meeting critique center.

• Display publications at monthly meetings. 

• Link personal websites to the PWP website and vice versa.

• Receive the monthly PWP Newsletter via e-mail or snail mail and monthly PWP website updates with information about upcoming meetings, events, and member announcements.

• Receive e-mail announcements about PWP colleague successes and PWP Featured Writers.

• Receive PWP listserv network messages and Friday Markets, More Friday Markets, and Even More Friday Markets - a weekly compendium of writing submission, contest, marketing, events, and publishing industry news announcements and links.

• Enter the annual PWP Writing Contest with fiction and nonfiction entries.

• Attend PWP-sponsored and/or PWP-supported local writing and booksigning events.

$15 +  $5 additional for hard copy newsletter

Operating costs are going up and this is the first year PWP has spent more revenue than it brought in. One of PWP's larger expenses is sending the monthly newsletter through the U.S. Mail. Printing and postage costs rise every year.

While the majority of our members prefer to receive their newsletter via e-mail, which costs PWP nothing, there are those who are either unable to receive it electronically or prefer to read a hard copy.  We want everyone to receive their newsletter in the way that suits them best. However, the PWP Board requests all members who wish to continue to receive a newsletter via U.S. mail to pay an additional $5 with 2009 dues in order to defray the cost of printing and postage. We would also like to remind members that the PWP Newsletter is e-mailed as a virus-free PDF file that can be saved in your document files and printed from your home computer.
