 VOYAGE by Stephen Baxter

I looked forward to reading this story about a U.S. space program that didn't tank after the Apollo missions and subsequently launched a manned mission to Mars in 1986, but unfortunately could not get into the story. The characters seemed promising, but the the story pace is slow and I couldn't see much conflict developing. Better luck next time, Steve-o.
