Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
Review by Mary E. Young

The author of Tuesdays With Morrie explores more meaning-of-life issues in this short novel. Based on the life of Albom's uncle, the story is about Eddie, a man who labored his whole life as a maintenance man in an amusement park.

One day Eddie is killed in an accident on one of the rides and goes to heaven. On earth he had been feeling as though his life meant nothing and that he would leave no legacy. His goals and dreams seemed unfulfilled. But the five people he meets in heaven explain that no life is without meaning or purpose. They illuminate the major events and tragedies of Eddie's life and show him how each contributed to a life that fulfilled many purposes.

If you're wondering "what it's all about," this little story will help!
